Nice and comfortable 6 Br/4 bath, 4400 sq.ft., oceanfront home in Vanderhorst Plantation. The first floor has the living room, dining room, den, kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The living room is spacious and has a fireplace, television, and exits to the deck. There is a bedroom is on the first floor with a king size bed and a private bath. The second bedroom has a king bed and the third bedroom has two twin beds. These two rooms share a bathroom. The second floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a sitting area. One of the bedrooms is the master with a king size bed and a private bath.The other two bedrooms have two twins each. You have limited ocean views from the second floor and your own private boardwalk to the beach from the first floor. The outdoor shower is always useful when you are this close to the beach! No-smoking.

We stayed at 35 Surfsong for the second year in a row this summer. The floorplan is perfect for our family and we love the private boardwalk to the beach. We'd love to see nicer cookware (not peeling frying pans which are unusable and peeling plastic cutting boards) and another baking sheet or two (we just had to wing it). We also killed some cockroaches throughout the house, but we didn't want to have a pesticide application while we were there. All in, we love the house and location and would definitely visit again!

We loved the proximity to the beach with the private boardwalk. The layout of the house was perfect for our family. The updated bathrooms were a big plus. The sheets and comforters in the king bedrooms were rough and very thin -- something a little softer would be nice. The kitchen cookware was pretty limited and worn out, but we made due. We loved all of the different sitting areas. We will definitely try and rent this house again.

Our tennis group of 14 ladies shared this house for a "girls weekend of tennis". The house was large and roomy and we had all the space we needed. We were a short walk to the beach and had a nice large deck for "after tennis" chats and "social hour". We plan to stay there again.

Our family enjoyed this large home, with ample space for kids and grandkids. The private boardwalk to the beach was most helpful. Several good-sized TV's and DVD players helped when Faye brought a lot of rain toward the end of the week.

The main negative was the lack of internet access. WiFi should be pretty much standard for a rental costing this much.

The kitchen was fairly well stocked, except for the odd absence of large salad bowls, big frying pans, and occasional other items along these lines. The 2nd refrigerator was a good plus.

We just returned from a very enjoyable visit to Kiawah, and this location is excellent for our large extended family. The private beach walkway is very helpful.
There were some electrical problems (a circuit breaker to some of the lights kept blowing), some of the dresser drawers needed repair, but overall, the facilities were quite good.
But as I complained about after our last visit 2 years ago, the lack of WiFi or any internet access is a significant omission in a rental costing this much. This really should be addressed, as it caused some significant difficulties, and also since cell phone reception was fairly poor for most of our phones.

PH tried hard to help-bought a new grill,sent people over for the leak, sent someone for the toilet etc, but the house needs to be updated.
